What is the effect of industry on the environment?

Answer:
Industry is a user of fossil fuels, certainly through its use of electricity, and probably through heating and production. Carbon dioxide, a powerful greenhouse gas, is thus added to the atmosphere, causing the enhanced greenhouse effect.

Up till now there have very few restrictions on the amount of pollution industry was allowed to emit, so emission of harmful gases into the environment like CO, CO2 and other effluents have resulted in acid rain, among other things.

Their smoke affects the surroundings and change the flora and fauna. an example is the pepper moth. before they were colored white but because of the factories the smoke that it emits made them black.
