What makes geothermal energy a good alternative source of electric power?

There are so many advantages of hydrothermal energy. The main advantage is that this is a form of green energy which does not pollute the environment and it is also sustainable among other advantages.

∙ 11y agoGeothermal energy is the capture of heat from deep under the ground, usually by pumping water down, and then turning that heat into electricity. The same water can be used over and over.
There will be an initial environmental impact as the geothermal plant is set up. This involves road building, drilling, capping, piping and buildings. There may be an escape of various greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane from the drilling, but these will be temporary. Electricity pylons will be needed to connect the geothermal power station to the main grid.
When the plant is set up and working, the energy produced should easily cover the running costs and the environmental impact will be virtually nil.
The only one I can really think of in a traditional residential or commercial-sized geothermal setup would be the disturbance of the soil.
