∙ 11y agoBasically Hunger games takes place in the future. A poor and very sad future, were North America now known as Panem is split up into 12 districts, and 1 very cruel ruler. There was a huge war between the districts and the capitol but the capitol won! Now the capitol punishes each district, by sending 1 girl and 1 boy from each district to The Hunger Games. Which is an huge cruel arena in which children between 12 and 18 battle to the death! There will only be one winner and there is 24 children in the arena.

Katniss Everdeen, a sixteen-year-old girl living in District 12, (the Virginia area) in the country of Panem (which used to be the United States) volunteers to be a tribute in the 74th annual Hunger Games, in which one male and one female between the ages of 12 and 18 are selected to participate in a fight to the death in a designated arena. This was arranged because, there used to be 13 districts, and they all revolted against the Capitol, and unfortunately caused the destruction of district 13, thus upsetting the peole of the Capitol. You can form alliances, which miss Everdeen does; with a 12 year old girl named Rue from district 11 and the other boy from her district, Peeta Melark. Peeta has been in love with Katniss since they were little, and during the games, though it begins as a make-believe relationship, Katniss finds feelings for him as well. The game-makers let them win together as a team for their district at the end.
