1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 All Chevy v8 motors have the same firing order. 18436572. On drivers side from front to back on the cylinders are 1357 on passenger side is 2468 get your #1 cylinder on top dead center with your finger over the hole on its compression stroke by having some one bumping the key slowly. You will feel the air pressure that's what you want. Piston should be all the way up. Then see were the rotor is pointing and that will be were your #1 wire goes. From there put your wires in the order I gave you clockwise.

From the driver seat, no. 1 cylinder is about 11 o'clock on the distributor cap.

The fire order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

This is for 305 and 350 engines.
