injector tubes are leaking
Pre-ECV military models used the 6.2 liter naturally aspirated Detroit Diesel V8 diesel engine. ECV models used the turbocharged 6.5 liter Detroit Diesel V8 diesel engine. Civilian models of the H1 also offered the 6.5 and 6.6 Duramax diesels.
A .2 of a liter, and a 7.3 Liter Diesel Exists
The Detroit Diesel 12.7 liter engine oil capacity is 11.5 gallons. 11 gallons will be in the engine. One half gallon will be in the oil filters.
Run away. That has the 6.2 liter naturally aspired Detroit Diesel V8, and that thing is a dog. Good for fuel mileage, but power is lacking, and the heads are terrible for forming cracks in them.
v8 firing order 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 diesel 1-5-3-6-2-4
I did a Google search and looked at 7 websites : For a Ford 7.3 liter diesel engine : The firing order is ( 1 - 2 - 7 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 8 ) Except for 1 website the other 6 showed that the engine cylinder locations were numbered : firewall 7 - 8 5 - 6 3 - 4 1 - 2 front of Ford 7.3 liter diesel V8 engine
Ford was the first and I can't wait till the new ford diesel is out the 6.7L ----------------- Actually, the above statement is inaccurate. The first was Dodge with a rather doggish 2.2 liter Mitsubishi diesel (which was a failure on the US market), and that was introduced in 1977, IIRC. General Motors then introduced their 5.7 Olds Diesel in 1978. Ford did not get into diesels until 1983, when they introduced the 6.9 liter International Harvester IDI diesel into their lineup, which was soon trumped by General Motors and the 6.2 liter Detroit Diesel which they introduced into their lineup in 1984. Dodge trumped them both by introducing the 5.9 liter 6BT Cummins in 1989, thus making up somewhat for their disastrous Mitsubishi diesel experiment.
No.
a 7.3 liter diesel
There isn't one set answer for this. It'll have to do with the displacement of the engine, the output of the starter required to get it to crank at enough speed to start, etc. Huge difference between, say, a 4.6 liter Land Rover V8 and a 12.0 liter Detroit Diesel 8V92 diesel V8.
