Namor the Submariner I don't know who was the first Marvel character, but Namor was the first mutant, not the first character.

I heard Selene was older, She started in Hyborian Age of Conan fighting Kulan Gath. Is she the oldest or is Romulus older. He is shown leading the Lupines in prehistoric and barbaric times.
Submariner is the first Marvel Comic character written, Created by Bill Everett for another publisher, he is six months older than the company itself.
Also, the Astronomer, who has been around for 5.5 billion earth years. He is apparently dead now though.
