A hexagon is only six triangles, so if you solve the area of one triangle and multiply by six: voilą!
Area of triangle is Height x 1/2 Base.
In a hexagon, the Height is from one corner to the center, and the Base is one flat side.
But that just gives you the area, not the volume. To calculate the volume, multiply the area found above by the height of the hexagonal container.
