What is the freezing point of rum?

[Edit]

The freezing point of Rum depends entirely on the concentration of ethanol versus water, expressed as a percentage or a "proof" (proof is 2x Percentage, so a 50% ethanol rum would be 100 proof). Ethanol freezes at minus 114 degrees celsius (-114C), and water freezes at zero degrees celsius (0C). The actual freezing point of the rum or any alcoholic beverage depends on the proof. As common home appliance freezers only go down to roughly -20C, you won't be able to freeze most alcoholic beverages at home.
