All electromagnetic and light waves, including microwaves, sunlight and radio all travel at the speed of light. 186,000 miles per second.

Other measurements of microwaves might include their frequency (about 2.450 gigahertz) or the wavelength of a microwave... about a millimetre.

Electromagnetic waves travel at the speed of light, but only in a vacuum. In any other media (like air) they actually travel a little slower. (Don't quote Einstein and argue that light can't travel slower unless you've got a handle on the concept of retarded time.) Other than measuring a wave's frequency and wavelength as cited, another measurement of a wave's characteristics is amplitude. The power of the wave is carried in its amplitude. (More amplitude = more power.) Use the link for more information. Microwaves come in the frequency range of about 3 gigahertz (3,000,000,000 cycles per second) to about 300 gigahertz. Some folks don't extend the microwave band down as low as the 3 Ghz mark, but calling electromagnetic radiation in that frequency range microwaves is something that goes back a ways. The upper limits of our ability to generate electromagnetic waves was much limited back in the day when the term "microwave" was first introduced. Today our cell phones operate at near the lower end of the microwave band. And lastly, the wavelength of microwaves varies from 10 cm (3Ghz) to 1 mm (300Ghz) if one subscribes to the idea that the microwave band extends down that far.

Wavelength is a length, so is measured in metres , cm, nanometres etc

typical microwaves have centimetre wavelengths but these can vary a lot

hertz is used to measure frequency or cycles per second

typical frequencies pof microwaves are between 300,000,000HZ to

300,000,000,000 Hz

- (300MHz to 300 GHz)

3 GHz -- 300 GHz

Amazing factoid:

"Microwave" ovens, the kind we use to heat leftover meatloaf, operate

in the US at 2.45 GHz. Technically, they're not even microwave !

Microwaves are electromagnetic energy - just like light, only of a different (lower) frequency. Microwaves move at the speed of light. Just like light does.

Which has higher frequency microwaves or tv waves?

In the entire spectrum of electromagnetic waves, microwaves and radiowaves (microwaves are sometimes classified under radio waves), have the longest wavelengths, and the lowest frequencies (and therefore, energy).

Is high frequency sounds low pitch?

No, high pitch means high frequency.
