I am sorry to say that I have only found his initials, which are F.K.

This was by John Knighton or J.K. Thomson. {THOMSON John Knighton an English painter was born about 1820 From 1849 to shortly before his death he was a constant exhibitor at the Academy and with the Society of British Artists. He also exhibited at the British Institution. His First Easter Dawn has been engraved He died in 1888}.

I have an 1877 proof print from the engraving, I would appreciate any info on the original painting and / or any other pertinent info.
