In a word; it is a Shield.
Stratified squamous epithelium is constituded of primarily flat cells and is suited to lining a surface that is exposed to friction or abrasion regularly. It is usually a layer over the top of a base membrane and can be torn or broken and replaced before the membrane it it protecting is harmed.
Straified squamous epithelium can be further categorised into either posessing of being devoid of keratin. Non keartinised straified squamous epithelium must be moisutised by an external source (other than keratin) usually a bodily fluid to prevent them from becoming dehydrated and dying.
Non-Keratinised stratefied squamous epilelium can be found in the Cornias, inside of the mounth, Recum, Vagina etc.
This type of tissue is found in the oral mucosa/esophagus, the vagina, and the nasal epithelium (I think).
uphold abrasion
Stratified Squamous provides the best protection because it is the outer layer of our skin. Your epidermis is stratified squamous epithelium!
Stratified Squamous
Stratified = layered; Epithelium = exterior, as compared to mesothelium or endothelium; Squamous = are flattened cells, obvious to be layered: need help/input/please,
stratified squamous
The oropharynx and the laryngopharynx are lined by non-keratinizing stratified squamous epithelium.
nonkeratinized stratified squamous epithelium of the esophagus transitions to simple columnar epithelium of the stomach
stratified squamous epithelial and simple cuboidal epethilium.
The epidermis is made up of stratified squamous epithelium.
Simple stratified epithelium lines the anus.
B. stratified squamous
Simple columnar epithelium cells will heal faster than stratified squamous cells. The stratified squamous cells rarely have contact with blood.

yes, mealoncytes are found in the stratified squamous epthelium
