The fibula is the smaler of the two bones located in the lower legs (the other is the tibia). Its main function is to provide a location for muscle attachment. Even though the fibula is not the weight-bearing bone of the legs, it lends support to the tibia, making us human more stable. It also offers us a wide range of maneuverability (running, jumping, climbing, stabilizing).
