A magnetron is a type of vaccum tube with an electron emissive filament and a carefully machined pattern used as a resonating cavity & fitted in a strong permanent magnetic field, used to generate microwaves of high powers.

When this type of tube is activated using the appropriate operating voltages, the electron flow in the vicintiy of the resonating cavity & the magnetic filed generates a strong electromagnetic frequency field depending on the characteristics of the resonant cavity.

A small take off electrode picks up the resonant energy from the cavity and feeds it into a waveguide which is then coupled to the external application as required.

Magnetrons are used in radars & microwave cooking ovens.

It is a vacuum tube invented by the British in ww2 for RADAR to inexpensively generate microwave pulses.

It uses a powerful magnet to generate an electron windthat blows over a series of cavities in the inner surface of the outer metal housing. These cavities act in a manner analogous to bottle whistles as air blows over them, however the cavities are tuned to resonate at a microwave frequency while the bottle whistles are tuned to resonate at an audio frequency.

Bohr magnetron is equal to Bohr magneton?

There is no such thing as a Borh magnetron. More than likely it was a spelling error. Borh magneton is the real constant.

What is the radiation source for microwaves waves?

Microwave frequency radio waves are usually produced by a MAGNETRON.

No heat in microwave?

Usually means that the magnetron tube that creates the microwave is burned out. I am an EE and when this happens to a microwave I buy a new microwave rather than trying to replace the tube. Fooling with the tube and shielding can be dangerous.

Who invented the microwave cooker?

Percy LeBaron Spencer is regarded as the inventor of the microwave oven. Spencer worked as an engineer with the Raytheon company, which was a company that developed defence and industrial equipment. The story goes that the concept of the microwave was discovered by accident while Spencer was experimenting with and testing a magnetron (diode vacuum tube). The magnetron, which had been invented during WWII at Manchester University, produced microwaves of such high frequency and power that it was invaluable in directing allied aircraft to intercept German Luftwaffe raiders during the battle of Britain. The magnetron was passed to Raytheon in the USA for further development. During testing, Dr Spencer reached into his pocket for his chocolate bar and discovered it had completely melted. He noted the connection between the melted chocolate and the heat-producing magnetron, and tested his theory on a bag of unpopped corn kernels, which then popped. In further testing, he placed an egg in front of the magnetron, and the egg exploded. For this reason, Spencer is credited with discovering one of the critical components of the microwave oven. Further modifications of the microwave oven developed out of his observations, and by 1947 Raytheon had perfected a commercial microwave oven. It was a large unit about the size of a tall cupboard and remained large until the Apollo 11 astronauts returned to Earth and were immediately quarantined in a sealed caravan in case they had brought Moon bacteria back to Earth. They cooked their meals on one of the first counter top Microwave ovens ever made.--------------------------------------------------------------The first magnetron was invented by Randall and Boot at Bournemouth University in 1940. Due to the exigencies of war, this invention like many others was suppressed from public knowledge at the time.

What are the main parts of microwave oven?

Basically a top level object is any object that comprises smaller objects. A good example would be the rooms of a house. Each room has numerous smaller appliances in it, so you could consider the kitchen, living room, and bedroom top level objects of the house. In the case of the microwave, you just choose the larger parts of it (your own microwave, or finding a picture online can help with this). For instance, the door could be considered a top level object. It helps the microwave perform its function, and is made up of smaller objects such as the latch, hinge, window, and the grid that keeps you from frying your face.

The Magnetron tube is quite different from the Klystron tube. The Magnetron tube is can only function as an oscillator only.

Is magnetron an element?

A magnetron is a high-power, high frequency vacuum tube. The magnetron is the source of radio-frequency energy in RADAR systems and in the microwave oven in your kitchen, for example.

What is the source of a microwave?

A magnetron tube inside of the microwave produces the waves and a fan circulates them.
