"Bi" is the prefix for 2, in Latin, whereas "tri" is the prefix for 3, in Latin. Therefore, a valve with 2 cusps would be named a bicuspid valve, in medical terminology (which traditionally uses a good deal of ancient Greek and Latin roots).

The tricuspid valve is on the right side of the heart and the bicuspid heart valve is on the left side. They both divide the atria from their respective ventricles, also called atrioventricular valves.
