I wrote to Rob Neyer of ESPN, and got this response:

That's an easy one: on May 2,1917, Hippo Vaughn and Fred Toney both have no-hitters after nine innings. Vaughn lost his in the 10th, but Toney completes the 10-inning no-hitter for the win.
