As a mom with two children, I would pay the following for these scenarios:

Evening Babysitter (ages 18-25) - responsibilities: give dinner to, and get children ready for and into bed by 8 pm, clean up dinner dishes (parents gone from about 6 pm to 11 pm) = $12/hr one child; $15/hr two children

I won't hire a babysitter between 15-18 right now, because I have an infant. If the youngest child is about 4, then no problem with hiring teenagers, but I'ld hire the teen at $1/hr less until they have a valid driver's license or red cross babysitter's license. A license shows me that the teen is responsible enough to complete the training.
