How to replace a turn signal lamp on 1997 Chevy Venture?

the turn signal and headlights are 2 different sections, although i urge you to loosen both sections. locateand loosen the black plastic asymbly that holds the headlights together there are 2 bolts located on both ends of it, then loosen the side bolt that hold the turn signal asymbly and take it out( these 3 bolts are all the same size and clearly visable) there are 2 long prongs that holds the end of the asymbly that go into 2 slots and there is a clip that holds the 2 sections together,( this is located where the headlights and turn signals come together,, be extra careful when separating the 2 pieces, as the clips will become flimsy and will not fit back together snug. separate the 2 pieces by gently wiggying the clip part first,,then pull section out (the long prongs), replace the turn signal bulb by twisting and then pulling out.Replace in this manner.align the 2 long prongs and insert into frame, then slowly align the clip and soflty push until it clicks into position, retighten the bolts on the headlight part, then the side botl that holds the turnsignal assymbly together. I cant stress enough to take your time and be careful of the clip. Its a shame the way they made this, but having done this numerous times, i learned the hard way. Good Luck!

How do you change the ignition coil on Oldsmobile delta 88?

Assuming its relativly close to an 88 model you will need these things... 10mm, 13mm , 15mm, 17mm wrenches and sockets, one will be a deep well, or a long wrench. Basic pliars, needle nose too , it helps. And a star socket, I cant remember the size, but a full set is like 9 bucks at Auto Zone. Step 1: remove the positive battery cable from the battery, and push it to the side to where you wont short it out. Step 2: Remove the 2 bolts from the intake Manifold that holds the ignition bracket on. Step 3: Remove the side mounted botl at the alternator and its corrosponding bracket that mounts to the ignition modules bracket. Step 4: Using your pliars remive the wiring harnes from the module. Step 5: Remove the 6 Star screws that Hold the Coil packs onto the Module. *Use pen and paper and write down the wiring so you dont mix the colors up when you put it back on. Step 6: Slightly pry the entire modules mounting bracket backwards twards the back of the engine. This will bend the bracket slightly, but dont over do it. Step 7: Use a 10 mm wrench and remove the 4 nuts on the bottom of the Modules bracket * be carefull not to drop these nuts, this is a tedious job. Go slow or you will be searching with a flash light and a magnet. Step 8: There is no step 8, you have the Module in your hands. be sure to test it at your Local Auto Zone, they do this for free. this part is 100 bucks, and you dont want to waste your 100 bucks. This is a non returnable item once its installed unless warrantied. Step 9: Reverse this process in exact order. I hope this helps you.

How do you remove the thermostat in a 91 Subaru Legacy?

ok.. the thermostat is fairly easy. things that should be considered. first, the location of the thermostat. second, condition of the area around the thermostat. thirdly, the condition of the bolts holding the thermostat body. if you look carfully under the hood, you will notice that there are two different hoses groing form the radiator to the engine. in order for you to see and and be able to change the thermstat you need to put the car on the jack (use of jack stands is recommended, DONT LEAVE THE CAR ON THE JACK ITSELF) from the driver side (is best place). its better not to put it on the side, on the panel, but better to put it no the frame of the car. lie down and follow the bottom hose from the radiator to engine and you will see the thermostat shell. it held by two bolts about 1 and 1/2 long. obsereve the condidion of these bolts. if they appear to be rusted, use WD-40 from the top. if you use you finger you can feel that the bolts on the other end. try as much as possible to get a sufficient amount of WD-40 on those two locations. wait a few minutes then using a rachet and #10 (Japanese cars usually use the metric system, mostly on subaru the bolts are size 10) and apply constant force. DO NOT APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE BECAUSE IT MAY BREAK THE BOLTS. when applying force you can feel if the botl is opening. REMEMBER, ALWAYS PERFORM RADIATOR REPAIRS WHEN THE SYSTEM IS COLD. once the bolts are out, drain what ever comes out from the hose (NOTE: you do not have to drain everything, only whatever comes out by it self). and also the antifreeze will come out from the small valve on the thermostat. let that drain completely. when that's done remove the thermostat and replace accordingly. if the bolts seem to have rust, clean them with a sand paper and apply some grease before re installing them. NOW, THIS REQUIRES SOME KNOWLEDGE OF CAR MECHANICS. IF BOLTS SEEM TO BE TOO TIGHT, I SUGGEST TAKE IT TO A PRFESSIONAL, IT CAN PREVENT ANY ACCIDENTS WITHE BOLTS. IF THE BOLTS BREAK, YOU WILL HAVE A SERIOUS TROUBLE AT HAND. IF ANY OF THIS SEEMS DIFFICULT, DO NOT DO IT. THIS IS YOUR CARS COOLING SYSTEM, IT IS VERY CRITICAL TO FUNCTION OF YOUR CAR. JUST BE CAREFULL.
