The herbal remedy for malaria is a tea made from Artemesia. This plant has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine and is usually known in English as Sweet Wormwood.
Despite this malaria treatment being very ancient, it was only in the 1960s that it became used in China on a widescale, and only in the mid-1990s that it began to be used outside of China.
Some scientists have speculated that Artemesia may prove to be the most significant remedy ever found for fighting malaria.
