I live in las vegas, as of 2012 the highest I remember the price going was in the summer of 2008, before the fall when the stock markets for lack of a better word crashed thousand of points right before the 2008 election. I don't recall gas ever getting above $5.00 for cheapo unleaded, but I do remember it getting into the 4.80's and possible in the 4.90's, my brother in LA at the time did tell that prices were over $5.00 in parts of California.
The rising gas prices will affect teenages just as the rising gas prices affect everyone.
In 30 years, gas prices will be well above $8.00.
