The slip is not something that is used to control the speed, it is just the amount by which the motor is running more slowly than the synchronous speed. With a heavier mechanical load on the shaft, the motor runs slightly slower, so the slip increases and the motor draws more current and power from the supply.

Slip is defined by 1-N/N0 where N is the actual speed and N0 is the synchronous speed, and the effective resistance presented to the flow of current is R/s, where R is the resistance of the stator.

Why is the speed of synchronous motor is more then induction motor?

Synchronous motors run at synchronous speed. An induction motor that has the same number of poles must run at a sub-synchronous speed to create a second magnetic field (a field that is at a different phase angle) to generate torque.
