i just saw it on nat geo, but they actually have never found it. they've seen fossils of it from billions of years ago and it's thought to be the oldest species that we've found to date, i forgot what its called i think it's a type of worm and it lives off bacteria deep in trenches and near sulfur deposits.

Organisms like Corals & Sponges can have vast lifetimes.

The longest lived Coral is the Leiopathes. It has been measured to be 4,265 years old, although it is believed that deeper in the ocean there are corals much older.

Based on growth rates, it is believed some Arctic Sponges are over 10,000 years old.

The oldest sea animal is the flat fish. If you don't know what flat fish are, contact the zoo to see an endangered one or look it up on Google Search. The blue whale is also believed to be the oldest too, but no scientists have been able to proove that.
