It is legal for any child of any age to ride in the front seat of any vehicle in Canada. There are no specific laws making this illegal. Transport Canada recommends turning off their airbag when possible and notes that the back seat would be safer. But since many vehicles, including pick up trucks without backseats and many sports cars, smart cars, etc, only have front seats, it's perfectly okay for any child to sit in the front, provided they are properly restrained and using the appropriate child safety seat.

I have seen the men sitting in the front seat(s) and the women sitting in the back seat of a car. Sometimes the guys will talk about the ball game and the ladies will talk about crafts. Of course, there to no shield to prevent the back and front seat passengers from talking to each other. Some ladies are shorter so if it is a two-door car, it may be easier for a woman to get in the back seat.

They can ride in the front seat if their feet touches the floor when they are sitting straight up.
