LDS Family Services, as well as all other Church-operated community outreach programs (Deseret Industries, Humanitarian Services, Bishop's Storehouse, etc) are overseen by the Presiding Bishop (currently Bishop H. David Burton) and his two councelors. The Presiding Bishop reports directly to the First Presidency.

How much does a family counselor working for LDS Family Services make?

What an LDS Family Services counselor is paid is based on their experience and the need in their area. You would have to contact the individual agency to see what the compensation might be. Be aware that LDS Family Services will generally only hire counselors with Masters degrees and proper certification in related fields. The Church's compensation policy for all employees is that they will 'compete with the national market while acknowledging some degree of consecration.'

Is it good to be LDS?

Yes. The members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ("LDS" or "Mormon") are generally known to be very clean, friendly, family-oriented people. They tend to be very active in serving in their communities and provide a lot of charity and humanitarian services. However, just being a member of the LDS church doesn't make you a good person. It is living out your faith by being Christlike that makes you a good person.

Do LDS members who choose to excommunicate from the church get punished forever?

LDS members do not choose to be excommunicated. Excommunication is an action the Church takes to remove members who commit serious sins. Excommunication is actually a pretty rare occasion, and excommunicated members are not punished forever. Church members who have been excommunicated are still welcome to participate in Sunday worship services and may be re-baptized into the Church once Church leadership feels they have sufficiently repented.

When were the LDS allowed in the LDS church?

I don't know why you asked that question. "LDS" means "Latter Day Saints" and refers to anyone who is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or LDS church. That is pretty self explanatory. So the LDS were ALWAYS allowed in the LDS church because the LDS church is made up of only LDS people. Duh.
