You can be 16 for minimum wage type jobs (i.e.-fast food). You can even be this age to work in some of the hotels as long as you are not dealing with the gaming end of things. You can make decent money being a life guard at a hotel or working at amusement attractions inside some of the hotels. They even feed you each day and provide your uniforms. I lived there and worked in the hotel industry for 30 years. Try to get a valet/bellperson job when you turn 18, or when you turn 21, try cocktails. Just avoid gaming! All the dealers I know/knew HATED it. You take a lot of abuse from the public. Try Excalibur and Circus-Circus. They hire many young people.

The legal age to rent a Motel room in the state of Nevada depends on whether or not the Motel is also a Casino and contains a bar. The legal gambling/drinking age is 21. Therefore you cannot rent a room in a Motel that is also a Casino and contains a bar. However, you may rent a room in an independent Motel that is not also a Casino and does not have a bar because 18 is the legal age to enter into a contract and a Motel rental is basically a contract. It is up to the Motel's personal policy whether or not they will rent to you even if you are 18. Some Motels feel that an 18 year old may not be responsible with the room and therefore it is against their policy to do so. If you are 18 and want to rent a Motel room, your best shot at it is to show up dressed nicely and conservatively. The more responsible you look, the better your chances are of getting the room. Check your attitude at the door and speak respectfully to the Management, and be courteous. It goes a long way.

There is no law regarding the age to babysit in Nevada, or in 48 of the 50 states for that matter. Most places consider 10-18 a good age to start babysitting.
