It depends. In many areas they require a minimum of 21. Some areas will allow 18. If there is alcohol in the rooms like a mini bar the minimum is always 21, and most college towns enforce the 21 rule as well. Elsewhere you can get in at 18.

It is 18years old to legally rent a hotel room. However, many hotels have a preference or a policy to rent to 21years old and up. You can argue this.

The legal age to rent a hotel in New York is 18 in some hotels and 21 in others. Some people have an older person pay and rent the hotel, then they stay in it.

You have to be able to enter into a legal contract. In most states that will mean you have to be 18. In some the age is 19 or 21.
