What is the legal age to babysit in TN?

I live in Smyrna, TN. Parents can legally bind you to their rules until you are 18 years old. * A minor who is pregnant or has a child is not considered automatically emancipated in the State of Tennessee. As stated previously the legal age of majority is applicable and that age is 18.

There isn't a 'legal' age. It's pretty much whatever the parents want. That if, of course, if you are just watching kids for a family you know. However, if you want to get a job at a child care place, then it depends on the place itself

Basically there does not appear to be a specified age to baby sit in most states. Parents are asked to use good judgment when selecting a babysitter. Many indicate a responsible teen 13 or 14 is a good starting age, although some parents have had babysitters from age 11 on up.

To babysit a baby you need to be at least 13 years old. Also you must have some expierence with children.

Old enough to handle the children, keep them safe and take care of any emergencies that might arise. There is no law that specifies an age.
