There are many factors to consider when talking about life expectancy. There is no way of predicting how long any particular smoker is going to live.

On average, smokers have a decrease of 8.3 years in their life expectancy when compared to non-smokers. However, one must consider the socioeconomic differences (i.e., income levels, lifestyle, daily stressors, access to health care, etc.) between smokers and nonsmokers, which can perhaps account for much of the statistical variance between the two groups.

If you're asking for specific statistical data, that also varies widely both from country to country and at the state/provincial/regional/city/neighbourhood level as well, so it's difficult to give an exact figure without accounting for geographical differences or knowing what region in which you're interested.

Longevity is partly dependent on non-controllable factors such as genetics and inherited diseases. Controllable factors (such as diet, weight, smoking, drinking, etc.) also come into play.

There is no set age when a smoker dies. Some studies say that smokers lose anywhere from 5 to 10 years of their expected lifespan. However, some smokers lived to 100 or 101 and died from old age rather than from cancer or any lung disease.

Many smokers never develop cancer or COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, e.g. the catch-all for all lung diseases).

So genetics and heredity play a huge role in lifespan issues, whether it be about smokers, drinkers, or people who are obese.

That said, smoking (as most "bad habits") has the potential to create or contribute to a variety of health problems.

It's impossible to say. Smoking is just one of many, many factors which could - or could not - contribute to a person's death. A recent study found that non-smokers were 50% more likely to be obese than smokers.
