The Epigstric Region is central of the abdomen, lying just below the sternum and above the umbilicus (tummy button)
the epigastric region is marked laterally by the two mid-clavicular lines and inferiorly by the transpyloric plane ( opposite L1 vertebra)
It is the area in the upper abdomen - mid-line and between the belly button and the ribs. Organs in this area include the stomach and the pancreas.
