Since the actions in Iraq and Afghanistan have not yet ended, it is logically impossible to answer whether the UK involvement with Libya can be compared to the outcomes in Iraq or Afghanistan.
As far as logic in becoming involved in Libya and Iraq, the primary interest is to protect citizens who strive toward human rights of freedom and free will. Compared to a smaller community-level issue, to ignore the cries of people who are being beaten or bullied (as one example) and just walking on by does not show human compassion. When anyone stands by while one person or one group hurts or kills someone else, it is a contributory action. By not acting, the bystander is just as guilty as those who perpetrate cruelty or killings. So the U.N. decided it cannot be a bystander. Countries decided they cannot be bystanders. Since the more powerful countries are in the best position to assist the "downtrodden", it usually falls on The United States and The United Kingdom to step up and help. Other countries may not have the resources or the interest to help.
