The longest bridge in the UK as at 2006, is the Humber Estuary bridge, completed in 1981 at a length of 1,410 metres. At the time of construction, it was the longest bridge in the world, but is now the 4th longest in the world. The Humber Bridge is the longest bridge in the United Kingdom AS TAKEN BY THE LENGTH OF THE MAIN SPAN, and therefore the 4th longest in the world when using that criteria. The longest bridge in it's entirety is the Second Severn Crossing, which has a length of roughly 3.2 miles, over twice as long as the Humber Bridge.

Many books state that the longest bridge in the UK as at 2006, is the Humber Bridge, completed in 1981 at a length of 1,410 metres. At the time of construction, it was the longest bridge in the world, but is now the 4th longest in the world.

However measurements of suspension bridges are taken by their main span only, and therefore the longest bridge in Britain by total length is the Second Severn Crossing spanning the Severn Estuary.

As measured by number of lanes, it's the Driscoll Bridge carrying the Garden State Parkway over the shipping channel of the Raritan River in Perth Amboy NJ, 42km (26mi) southwest of Central Park in Manhattan. It has 15 travel lanes plus 6 shoulder lanes.

As for total width, when complete in Dec. 2012 it will be the new Port Mann Bridge in Metro Vancouver, BC at 65 m.

As measured by length (one side to the other) and width, the Main St. bridge in Lockport, NY is 129 ft. (39.3 meters) long, but it is 400 ft (122 meters) wide. It includes parts of Main Street (NY-31), Saxton Street, Cottage Street, and Two Parking Lots Over Erie Canal. It was built in 1914, one span.
