Other contributors have said "Whats the worlds longest word?" is the same question as "What is the longest word?".


Pnuemonoultramicroscopic-silicovolcanoconiosis. (no hyphen - without it, the page would not show the whole thing) This is a name for a lung disease commonly referred to as simply "silicosis". The word (45 letters) was created specifically to be the longest dictionary word in English.
