For Hotmail / Windows Live mail, you do not have to specify this on iPhones. Just select "Hotmail" as the type of e-mail provider, and the iPhone will automatically enter these for you. Just enter your account credentials, and you are done!
The Incoming server is pop.gmail.com and the Outgoing server is smtp.gmail.com last I heard.
I am pretty sure it is mail.gmail.com.

Here in NW Montana, the incoming server is pop.centurylink.net and the outgoing is smtp.centurylink.net. GEEK SQUAD!! Here in Arkansas, the incoming server is the same but the outgiong is smtpauth.centurytel.net. This is on an iPhone4. God Bless.
