I don't think there is any "law" prohibiting work hours after the age of 16 - I know at 16 it's very strict, only can work 30 hrs a week, etc....but I _think_ at 17+ there is no restriction. Obviously an employer should be able to give you this information too, as they wouldn't want to get in trouble. College is an "on your own" type deal, so there isn't any work restrictions like there are in High school, since high school is required. Obviously, these rules/laws can vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction... You may want to check out about.com - they have a page on employment laws.
There is no maximum amount of overtime; your employer must pay you overtime wages (usually time and a half) for every hour over 40 hours in a week.
40 hours per week, anything over this amount is considered overtime.
168. That is all the hours that there are in a week, but there is no reason to deprive him of any! He has a right to have them.

A semester hour typically means the amount of class contact hours in one week. For example, a three credit course would meet three hours per week through the length of the semester. A four credit course would meet four hours per week through the length of the semester.
