Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an anti-histamine similar to benedryl. Side effects of abuse are extremely unpleasant. A lethal dose is rare unless combined with opiates, tranquilizers or alcohol. You would probably die from taking a whole bottle (about 30 tablets) if combined with a large amount of opiates and alcohol and traquilizers. Heath Ledger died from a combination of medications. Benedryl was one of the medications he took in combination with opiates and traquilizers. Grapefruit juice enhances the side effects of benzodiazepine traquilizers and anti-histamines also.
