What is the meaning of acid rain?

[Edit]
Pollution gases in the air such as:

  • Sulfur dioxide
  • Nitrogen oxide

combine with water in the air to produce:

  • Sulphuric Acid
  • Nitric Acid

These acids come down as acid rain. Acid is corrosive, even to metals, so the rain corrodes anything it falls on- like your car!
