What is the meaning of the expression 'better you than me'?

[Edit]

Answer

'Better youu than me' basically means that I don't care about you( as long as it doesn't affect me). For example, you and a friend are stealing a car. You get busted, but you get away and leave your friend behind. he gets booked has a trial and is put away for ten years. He doesn't rat you out. It's better he got caught than you didn't.
