The true meaning of Christmas isn't just to receive gifts and put up the Christmas tree, to carol or about Santa coming down your chimney.

In fact, Santa has NOTHING to do with the true meaning of Christmas. On Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The birth of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

A long time ago, the Romans used to honor the sun god on the 21st of December. Then, one man converted himself to Christianity and wanted to celebrate the birth of Christ just as the Romans did the sun god. So, Christmas was officially declared to be celebrated on the 25th of December.

The North star led a group of wise men (many people say there were 3, but The Bible doesn't state exactly how many) to the birth of their new king, Jesus. These wise men brought gifts with them, but only 3 are known.

The Wise men arrived when Jesus was about 2 years old.

When Jesus grew up, he was a carpenter and a fisherman of souls.

He was followed by 12 disciples, to whom he preached only the truth.

On a day full of hatred, death, and sin, he was crucified.

He shed blood without sin, to purify us all.

Today, he is in heaven.

And he did all this for love.

Christmas is a time to celebrate not only the birth of Jesus Christ, but what he did for us as well. The gifts we receive on Christmas Day represent the gifts that the wise men brought the lord when he was still young. So the presents are still part of the tradition. However, the real meaning of CHRISTmas is CHRIST.

An annual church festival (December 25) and in some States a legal holiday, in memory of the birth of Christ, often celebrated by a particular church service, and also by special gifts, greetings, and hospitality.

What is the true meaning of Christmas? Well many children believe the true meaning of Christmas is GETTING TOYS FROM friends and family. But that is not the true meaning of Christmas the true meaning of Christmas is BEING WITH friends and family. It's about love and peace its about well the story of Jesus being born so that he will sacrifice himself on the cross for our sins and if we except him in our hearts then well have eternal life and go up in heaven to be with him once more.
