i think its 100

---------

The range of the melting point is between 30 0C and 70 0C, depending on the material used.

At a higher temperature the wax is thermally decomposed or ignited.

Many types of waxes are known; each has a different melting point, generally greater than 45 0C.

The term boiling point is not suitable because at high temperature the wax is thermally decomposed.

Candle wax generally refers to two types of waxes. They are paraffin wax and beeswax. Paraffin wax (or simply "paraffin", but see alternative name for kerosene, above) is mostly found as a white, odorless, tasteless, waxy solid, with a typical melting point between about 47 °C to 64 °C ( 116.6°F to 147.2°F). Beeswax has a high melting point range, of 62 to 64 °C (144 to 147 °F). If beeswax is heated above 85 °C (185 °F) discoloration occurs.

It's pretty low - around 30-40 Celsius - but that's actually high for a covalent compound like paraffin. The reason is, paraffin molecules have a long carbon chain of 40 or more carbon atoms, and this makes for a high melting point. Shorter carbon chain covalent compounds, like octane or propane, are liquids or even gases at room temperature, so clearly their melting and boiling points are way lower.

Do solids have a high or low melting point?

That depends on the solid: ice has a very low melting point, lard and butter have low melting points, chocolate has a relatively low melting point, wax has an intermediate melting point, lead has a high melting point, iron has a very high melting point, tungsten has an extremely high melting point.
