Remote desktop is a program that is native on winxp. The home edition requires that you email the user of the other computer and then access via that way. XP professional allows you to just type in the computer name or IP address and you can connect.

Click on Start, Go to all programs, accessories, communication, remote desktop connection. Then all you will need to do is type in the computer name or IP.

VNC is a free software download that you can install on both computers and it will allow remote desktop connection in either xp home or pro.
