'Piano' is a lyric poem that reflects on the thoughts and feeling of a speaker as he listens at dusk to a woman singing a song that brings back a childhood memory. Music has a very powerful effect to bring back memories . This reminds him of sitting at his mother's feet while she played the piano. This poem is a short one of twelve lines and is a Quatrain which each stanza consists of four lines. The rhyming pattern is AABB.
"Softly, in the dusk, a women is singing to me;"
Taking me back down the vista of years, till I see"
This poem serves a metaphor of nostalgia.

The 21st century movie that is not predominantly in black and white is the PIANIST.
The main theme is survival. The film follows Szpilman as he struggle to survive the Nazi regime. * Man's inhumanity to man. * The strength of music. * The will to live.
The theme of that movie was cheerful.

I liked it. Not your typical blood and guts Nazi film, instead it is based upon true events of a Polish pianist during the war.

Yes. It was used in the movie "The Pianist." It was also the theme music for "The Secret Garden" and has haunted me ever since I saw it in the late 80's.
