What is the most comfortable driving car with most comfortable seats for people with lower back trouble? In: Car Buying |
[Edit] |
Answer
Short People
Short people share some of the same difficulties big people do. They need to find a vehicle in which they can remain 10 – 12 inches away from the airbags and still reach the pedals. If they cannot, they too may want to get pedal extenders.
Other problems for short people can be sitting high enough to see over the dash and steering wheel, being able to reach the back lift to shut it, and being able to step up into the vehicle if it sits high off the ground.
Some of the cars other short people have liked were: Sedan Acura MDX Audi A6 BMW 3 Series - Sight lines are good, the seats are supportive and there's a multitude of ways to adjust both the seats and steering wheel. Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx - adjustable pedals and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel are optional on all models. Honda Accord - Visibility is excellent in the sedan. Seat-height adjustment and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel are standard from the LX model on up. Lexus IS300, Lexus LS430, Lexus RX330 Mazda 3 - good visibility and a standard tilt/telescoping steering wheel. “S” models have a height-adjustable driver seat. Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Toyota Avalon Toyota Camry Volkswagen Golf, GTI and Jetta - Easy to see out of. Seat-height adjustment and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel are standard. Volkswagen Passat - Exceptionally wide range of both seat-height adjustment and telescoping-wheel adjustment. Compact Mini Cooper - Well proportioned for smaller drivers. A height-adjustable driver seat is standard, and visibility is good. Minivan Toyota Sienna – not only a good view of the road, but it comes standard with a telescoping steering wheel.
The following vehicles made a ’10 worst’ list for short people :
Audi TT
Chevrolet Silverado
Dodge Ram
Ford F-150
Honda S2000
Nissan 530Z
Nissan Frontier
Nissan Titan
Pontiac Aztek
Toyota Tacoma
Another driver mentioned the Ford Explorer Sport Trac as not being a good car for short people.
