Answer:
The below answer is good, but is too vague. I will leave that up because of all the great songs on there, but according to Digital Dream Door, Rock Music List, and Audio Visual Revolution, it is by far, beyond a reasonable doubt that the song Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock song of all time. Just looking at the evidence of how popular this song is, anybody who would think otherwise I would consider to be unreasonable and ignorant.
Also, Stairway to Heaven is the most replayed song ever made and beats the tar out of any other song, looking at the number of people at the concerts, songs bought, random selection by Genius, and many other credible sources.
Wow... that's a hard one....
Most famous is probably either something by The Beatles (Help, Let it Be, Lucy and the Sky of Diamonds) or something like Walk This Way by Aerosmith
But still there is AC-DC(Highway to Hell, Back in Black, Thunderstruck, For those about to Rock...)
Lynard Skynard with Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama.
Then there is Gun's n' Roses with Sweet Child of Mine, Paradice City, and Welcome to the Jungle.
Heart with Barracuda
Led Zeppelin with Kashmir, Black Dog, Immigrant Song, and Stairway to Heaven
Jimi Hendrix with Purple Haze, Voodoo Child, and his remix on The Star Spangled Banner *Star Mangled Banner as some call it*
Boston with Piece of Mind and More than a Feeling
Deep Purple with Smoke on the Water and Hush
Black Sabbath with Iron Man, Paranoid, and War Pigs
Pink Floyd with Great Gig in the Sky, Money, and Another Brick in the Wall
Rolling Stones with Ruby Tuesday, Paint it Black, and Honkey-Tonk Woman
U2 with Vertigo, Sunday Bloody Sunday, and Where the Streets have No Name
ZZ Top with La Grange, Sharp Dressed Man, and Cheap Sunglasses
Van Halen with You Really Got Me
Elton John with Crocodile Rock, Rocketman, and Bennie and the Jets
The Doors with Light my Fire, Riders on the Storm, and Break on Through

Rock Music has many genres including classic rock. Rock can be in general anyone that gets together and makes a song whether it light, heavy, and anything in between. What makes classic rock different is one thing longevity through the decades. When a classic rock song is made it bypasses all time it sounds good at any time any year and pleases a wide Audience. For example Def Leppards song Bringing on the Heartache sung by them is a classic rock song. Where as Maria Cary singing the same song is not a classic rock song.
