In the US, it's White, Black then Silver.

It isn't always that people prefer these colors- these colors are only more common because bright hues such as yellow, orange, violet, pink, green, etc. are considered distracting on the road. Most car owners get cars in neutral colors because they cannot afford the higher insurance cost of brightly-colored cars; cars that are brightly colored are considered too distracting and could be a road hazard.
