Currently (in 2012) the most powerful cluster computer is the K Computer, located in Japan. This computer uses Fujitsu infrastructure comprising many CPU cores and fast network transmission. It can perform around ten petaflops per second. Each petaflop is equivalent to one million billion (10^15) math operations.

∙ 14y agoCurrently the top supercomputer in the world is Jaguar, a Cray XT5-HE which is currently working for the National Center for Computational Sciences at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Jaguar contains 37,376 six-core AMD Opteron processors (for a total of 224,256 cores) which have been measured at speeds up to 2,332 teraflops.
It also houses nearly 300 TB RAM and over 10,000 TB storage space.

∙ 6y agoAccording to TOP500.org, for Novemver 2017: "Sunway TaihuLight, a system developed by China’s National Research Center of Parallel Computer Engineering & Technology (NRCPC), and installed at the National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi, maintains its number one ranking for the fourth time, with a High Performance Linpack (HPL) mark of 93.01 petaflops."Petaflops means 10 to the power 15 floating-point operations per second - so that would be 93,010,000,000,000,000 floating-point operations per second.
