[Edit] |
Answer
Pfiesteria is among the many algea-type microorganisms (not to mention diatoms) that produce dramatically toxic poisons, killing entire herds of cows, pods of manatees, schools of fish, and occasionally groups of people. The algea that blooms to cause red tides is likely the same culprit cited in Exodus for killing all the fish in the Red Sea.
Among larger organisms, various sea snakes are among the deadliest venom-producing organisms known to man. For example, the venom of the Eastern Coral Snake, microgram for microgram, is the deadliest neurotoxins known to come from an larger organism.
