What is the name of a desert in Antarctica?

Answer:
In spite of it's layer of ice, Antarctica itself is considered a desert, because it has so little rain or snow fall. Antarctica has a permanent layer of thick ice covering it, with only some bare rocky areas showing. There is almost no plant life at all on Antarctica, and no large animals live there throughout the entire year. There are only a few small plants and some insects year-round.
