That part is the intake manifold. This is where the air is sent to the combustion chambers. Also, the top hose from the rad. goes the thermostate housing on the intake. Ford had a recall on the intake. The coolant goes to that housing and then across the manifold to the other side of the engine. Unfortunately, it is all made of plastic. This plastic in time cracks, leading to a coolant leak which could empty the total amount of coolant in the engine, and if not caught in time, well, there goes the engine. Ford does have a new manifold available with the cross-over made from cast metal. This solves the problem. The part can found anywhere from $ 250.00 to 500.00. It takes 6 to 8 hours to change. There was a large lawsuit in the U.S. over this part also. Google the info for more update. Hope this helps.
You pour it through a thin necked funnel into the dipstick tube

Wood, sometimes might even be plastic with a thin line of lead running through it which enables you to write :-)
Injectors leaking. Raw fuel is making its way into the exhaust through the engine. This is not safe. Take it to the dealer.
you probably wont believe this, but the alternator bracket actually has coolant running through it. they leak pretty often. there is plastic pipes running to the bracket and the plastic corrodes. honest.
you either have a blown head gasket or a warped head or a cracked block.
The best way is to remove the bottom bolt and bend it all around until the top breaks then start the new shocks and tighten the nuts at the top through the fenderwell.
On a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis : Bank 2 is the drivers side of the engine and ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sensor 1 would be close to the engine before the exhaust enters the catalytic converter Sensor 2 would be AFTER the exhaust has passed through the catalytic converter ( also called a catalyst monitor )
