266 horsepower@ 5500
There is too much incorrect info out there re: the 351C engine. 266HP net is correct for '72 (M or Q code). The '73 351C 4V (Q) was rated 248HP net due to lower compression (dished pistons) and smaller valves. All my information is taken from original Ford literature.
in 1970-1973 ford introduced the 4 barral carb 351 Cleveland with a horsepower rating of 300
160 horsepower - 2 barrel carburetor 180 horsepower - 4 barrel carburetor
28 horsepower.
280 net horsepower.
The 1973 Dodge 440 cubic inch engine was rated at 375 horsepower. That was with a single, four barrel carburetor.
Around 170-180
225 horsepower - UA engine code or 250 horsepower - UD engine code
the 70 engine came in a couple of different horsepower ratings and had higher compression ratios than the 73 model 350 and the 350 of 73 only came in one horsepower rating and was smogged down with emission controls.
154 / 159 / 161 /163 / 164 /177 ( 2 barrel ) The '73 351C 4V (Q) was rated 248HP net. All my information is taken from original Ford literature.
The 440 was detuned to 280 hp in 72
1970 - 1973. 200 HP.
