What is the oldest Mardi Gras in America?

Mobile, Alabama.

Joe Cain the begginer of Mardi Gras, was born in Alabama, and barried there. New Orleans is more popular for their Mardi Gras parades which make them obviously think they began it. In mobile they even have a day called Joe Cain day, where many people stand at his grave and cry. Mobile Alabama began Mardi Gras a long time ago, though no one beleives it is the begginer since New Orleans is more popular for their mardi gras, But there is nothin' better than a good ole Mardi Gras celebration in Mobile AL. Maybe catch some moon pies, and with no doubt you will come home with a lot of Mardi Gras beads, bears , roses, etc.
