The Christmas spirit is not Christian, because it did not originate with Christ. It predated the Christian era by many centuries.Shortly after the flood the spirit and the whole celebration of Christmas had its beginning. It began with Nimrod grandson of Ham the son of Noah, a wicked ,ruthless dictator, responsible for the great organized worldly apostasy from God that continues to this day.In contempt for God and all decency Nimrod married his own mother,Semiramis ,After his untimely death, his mother-wife, Semiramis, taught the lie that her husband-son was a spirit god. she claimed a full grown ever green tree sprang overnight from a dead tree stump, which symbolized the springing forth to the new life of the dead Nimrod. She taught that on the the anniversary of his birth, which was December 25, Nimrod would visit the ever gree tree and leave gifts upon it.The historian,Professor Hislop says: “Now the Yule Log is the dead stock of Nimrod deified as the sun -god, but cut down by his enemies: the Christmas-tree is Nimrod redivivus -the slain god come to life again .-the Babylons, pages 97,98

This is the beginning of Christmas with its spirit. This is also the origin of the yule log, The Christmas tree, the celebrating of birthdays, the spirit of exchanging gifts, the spirit of feasting and merrymaking,, visits and salutation, jocularity, revelry and drunkenness.

Christmas is the Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. The first mention of the celebration of Christmas occurred in AD 336, in an early Roman calendar, which indicates December 25, as the day of observance. Although no one knows the actual day of birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas Day is when it is observed.

The celebration is believed to have been influenced by pagan (unchristian) festivals at that time.

The ancient Romans held year-end celebrations to honor Saturn, their harvest god; and Mithras, the god of light. As part of the celebrations, the people prepared special foods, decorated their homes with greenery, and joined in singing and gift giving.

By the late 300's, Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire. By 1100, Christmas had become the most important religious festival in Europe, and Saint Nicholas was a symbol of gift giving in many European countries.

Then, the holiday began to spread around to other parts of the world, including North America, and the rest is history.

Christmas is a holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, 2000+ years ago. Through the years the way the holiday has changed based on what country and traditions were in a certain region of the world. Bavaria is the source of most of American's typical traditions of having a Christmas tree and giving gifts (like the three kings gave to Jesus)

It was a man named St. Nicholas. He was very rich because he was the som of the Pope (I believe he was the Pope's son) When the Pope died, he became the Pope, and was filthy rich. Bad part was, he was to live a humble life for God. So when he was walking past a house of a poor man, whos daughter was complaining about how he wasn't rich enough to get her married. Back in those days, a father had to pay a sum of money to the groom. It was what most men and women needed to start a family. So Nicholas decided to drop a bag of coins into the house. The next morning, he saw the look on the daughters face as she profusely thanked her father. her father said he had no idea where the money came from. But then the next day, The second daughter was complaining about how she wanted to get married to, and why he had only paid the first daughter for her marrage. Nicholas heard this. SO he dropped a bag of coins through the window that night. The next morning, the second daughter thanked her father and went out to get married. But yet again the third daughter was whining because her older sisters had gotten married, and she had wanted to marry her sweetheart to. She hung her stockings by the fire and went to bed. And that night Nicholas came back. But the father decided to hide in the bushes and find out who was doing this. The father was so noisy that Nicholas heard him far away. So he went up on the roof and dropped the bag of gold down the chimney. It landed right into the stocking. HE would of gotten away without anyone noticing, but his red Pope's robe was hard to miss and the father spotted him. That's how Christmas started.

The origin of Christmas goes back to the Roman Empire. Festivals honoring two pagan gods- the Roman Sol and the Persian Mithra were celebrated on Dec. 25, which was the winter Solstice. The pagan festivals became a "Christian" holiday in the year 350. This was the year that Pope Julius I declared Dec. 25 to be Christ's birthday. Historically, the Roman Saturnalian festivals began on Dec 17 and ended on Dec 24. They involved banqueting, feasting, heavy drinking, gift giving, and riotous behavior. In reality, Christmas is based on a pagan holiday which Christians adopted.

Mary was a young woman who was engaged to be married to a man called Joseph. The Gospel of Luke says that an angel came to Mary to tell her that she would give birth to a Son and she should call him Jesus and that he would save people from their sins.Mary said "How can this happen? I am a virgin!" The angel said "With God, anything can happen!"When Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant, he thought about what he should do. If he married her, he would be unclean. He decided to privately break the engagement. But then he had a dream. An angel told him that the baby was the Son of God.At this time, the Roman Emperor, Caesar Augustus, made a law that everyone in the Roman Empire must pay tax. Everyone had to go back to the town that their family came from, to have their name put on the tax lists. Joseph came from Bethlehem, which was called The City of David. Joseph took Mary to Bethlehem and she gave birth to the baby, Jesus, in an animal shed, because there was no room for them.
